2007 PASS Outlaw Series &
Sportsman Series News
Speedway 95 - 5/27/07
Bangor, Maine
The PASS Outlaws and PASS Sports series visited Speedway 95 on Sunday 5/27.  We
headed off to Maine very early Sunday morning with both cars and arrived at the
Speedway at 9am. Both Jeremy and Michael were newbies at this track and as
practice got under way..... it would be obvious.... this place is DIFFERENT!

Jeremy's #09 Outlaw would finish 4th in his qualifier - and Micheal would bring his #9
Sport Series camaro home 5th.
The Outlaws took the track for the 100 lap event and Jeremy quickly found that
staying out of trouble and saving your tires - would be the only way to ensure a solid
finish. Well it worked, he came home with a 13th place finish!
Michael was up next for his 75 lap feature... the laps ticked off quickly and Michael
found himself more than a little OUTCLASSED!
Right around the halfway the #9 was in the middle of the pack, where his left rear tire
was cut, bringing out the caution. He came in on the rim & we got it changed.
Michael survived the rest of the 75 lap event and brought home a respectable 10th
place finish.

All in all... a very good day! Both Jeremy & Michael had good runs and we brought
both cars back to Tamworth, NH in one piece.  Off to Unity in a few weeks! A few
pictures from Speedway 95 are below........

BRMS Season Opener
Our first 2007 outing with the PASS Outlaw Late Model #09 had it's UPS & DOWNS!
Jeremy got a ton of practice and after a few adjustments we got it right!

All for not - the clutch came apart in heat race and with only 5 minutes between the
heat & feature there was no time to make repairs. Jeremy started the feature and
since he was unable to run up to speed, he pulled the #09 to the pit.

All in All - A bad day at the races is better than a good day anywhere else!
Unity Raceway News 6/17/2007
Another long haul... off to Unity Raceway in Unity Maine!

The #09 Outlaw & the #9 Sportsman arrived at the race track Saturday in hopes
to get some laps on the unfamiliar 1/3 mile.
Both cars finally got some much needed practice after a
small clutch issue with Jeremy's Outlaw.
Practice went well and both cars were put away for a nights rest!

Sunday - Raceday!
What a day...
Jeremy took his Outlaw out for practice and found a little more speed than he had
on Saturday. The car was good and Jeremy was ready! The heat race went
without a hitch (for Jeremy anyway)! The #22 of Mike Harnish wasn't so lucky, a
bad start for the outside row ended with the #22 in the pit with serious damage.
(note: the #22 rallied and got the car back together and pulled out a great 5th place finish in the 100 lap main event)

The 100 lap feature race got under way and Jeremy found that defensive driving
was the only thing that would get him to the end of the race. After many
cautions.... and some heads-up driving, Jeremy found himself well in the top 10.
So... to make this LONG/CAUTION FILLED story short....
Jeremy developed a serious push toward the end of the race as a result of
running over debris, he had a right front tire going down.....
When the race was over Jeremy held on for a great 9th place finish.
Thanks..Grampa & Dad for everything!

PASS Sportsman series took the track for their 75 lap feature and proved that the
Outlaws would not be the only ACTION FILLED race of the day!  Michael started
the #9 Sportsman in the back of the 26 car field and fought his way forward. The
#9 fought into the top ten and developed a handling problem..... again this
problem was a result of running over debris and the left rear was going down!
Michael lost some positions and brought the Camaro home in the 15th spot.

All in All... a great weekend for the Cotton-Davis family!
Jeremy, as usual, proved that having a level head and patience will give you
good results!  Michael, as usual, proved that you don't have to break the bank to
have some SERIOUS FUN!!

We had some new help on Sunday that was MUCH appreciated!
Thanks..... Eugene - Geno - Kyle!
What We Have Been Up To.......

6/23 - WMMP
6/30 - Riverside
7/28 - WMMP
8/4 - WMMP
8/11 - WMMP
8/17 - Riverside
8/18 - WMMP
8/19 - Wiscassett

With the PASS Outlaw Late Model Series RAINED OUT twice,
we had to find somewhere to race!
SO..... we had to drag out the WMMP Strictly Stock to
fill in some BIG gaps with no racing!

A quick overview ....
White Mountain Motorsports Park has been a good "filler", Jeremy has
had a ton of fun and it is great to be able to see our fellow racers at
WMMP. Jeremy has finished in the range of last -to- first!

Both Jeremy & Michael joined the PASS Sportsman Series at Riverside
on 6/30 - with the 9 & 9X
(This was the first time that father & son had raced each other)
Michael had a strong finish of 10th and Jeremy had the misfortune of
meeting the #38 of Dan McKeage.... twice!    We brought home the 9X in
pretty rough shape thanks to Mr. Mckeage.

August 17 - 18 - 19

On Friday the PASS Outlaw Late Models visited Riverside
along with the PASS Modifieds. Jeremy had a great night...
2nd in his heat & 4th in the 100 lap main event!!!

Then we moved over to WMMP for Saturday night ...another great night
with a Feature win!

And we can't forget dad... sunday we went to Wiscassett for th PASS
Sports Series event. Michael had a respectable 14th place finish. Plenty
of driver... not enough car!
It was a LONG weekend of racing, but all 3 cars came home in one piece
and both drivers had smiles on their faces....
GOOD WEEKEND in my book!

PASS Sportsman Series

The Outlaw #09 & the Sports Series #9 visited Canaan Speedway on Monday 9/3.

Having lots of "invaders" to contend with in both divisions, both Jeremy & Michael had no
idea what the day would bring....

The Sport Series racing turned out to be a long - wreck filled event!   It seemed that
everywhere you looked there were cars roughing each other up. To say the least... did
not see a whole lot of clean racing in this division! 4 out of the top 5 finishers were not
your regular Sport Series drivers.
Our #9 Camaro came home 6th - a GREAT finish!

The Outlaw Late Model Series

Our #09 Outlaw felt "pretty good" according to Jeremy. The heat races went OK and
feature time came very quickly! PASS was moving this day along swiftly!
Jeremy started 15th and had the car going very well until around lap 25 when his Chevy
Monte Carlo BROKE a right front wheel!
After collecting the #14 of Katie Hagar and getting to the pit to change the wheel & tire,
Jeremy  just could not get the car to grip. He did a great job salvaging this day and
getting a 13th place finish.

Congratulations to feature winner Walt Hammond in the #97!

RACERS PLEASE TAKE NOTE.......
Jeremy's right front wheel failure was part of a
